Overall goal: Research on cognition in older adults requires careful consideration of how to model cognitive performance. The ΨMCA 2023 workshop will focus on Bayesian approaches to modeling cognition. We will focus on use of Bayesian models with item level data to generate factor scores, and use of Bayesian models scores to evaluate change over time while incorporating what we know about measurement precision / error at each time point for each individual. We plan carefully prepared tutorials so attendees can expect to experience success in running and interpreting Bayesian psychometric models on their own laptops. The meeting will be chaired by Paul Crane.
